How to Import DWG File in 3DS MAX In Correct Way

Sometime people get confused with the Unit Setup while working with Autodesk AUTOCAD and Autodesk 3DS MAX. This technique is very usefull for those who are not an expert in Autocad. So here is the technique:-

As you can see I have made a simple drawing in Autocad and my Unit Setup is set to Decimals (Millimeters). You can see by type UN and press Enter. I want to work with Feet/Inches in 3ds max for correct lighting results or I don’t want to work with Millimeters.
Now If I rescale the drawing into feet/inches when importing, the drawing would be 25.4% large than this. But we can it to Millimeters Itself. See how I did this.

Now I set my 3ds max Unit Setup to “Feet w/Fractional Inches” and my System Unit Setup is set to Inches

Now I am going to Import my Autocad Drawing and I am rescaling it in Millimeters itself not in Inches or feets. You will see a POP UP window when you import your Drawing.

Now you can see My drawing is proper scaled and my units is converted into Feet/Inches. Now I am working with correct unit setups in 3ds max and I won't get any lighting problems/issues with this file. Hope you will like this tutorial. Keep Visiting for more tutorials.
